Position Summary
The Manager, Individual Giving is responsible for managing relationships with individual midlevel donors contributing up to $10,000. This role aims to strengthen donor commitment through tailored outreach and strategic engagement, while also supporting volunteer-led fundraising initiatives. This role will play a key role in growing donor contributions and fostering strong, lasting relationships with both current and prospective donors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Donor Relationship Management:
- Oversee relationships with individual donors contributing up to $10,000, focusing on building personal connections and increasing their engagement with United Way
- Develop and execute strategies to grow allocable giving through education on United Way’s initiatives.
Volunteer-Led Fundraising:

- Create and manage a tracking mechanism for peer-to-peer fundraising efforts.
- Support board members and key champions in expanding the donor base by engaging with and leveraging their networks.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Plan and implement donor engagement strategies that create opportunities for increased investment.
- Leverage board and strategic relationships to achieve fundraising goals.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Relevant certifications in fundraising or nonprofit management are a plus.
Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in fundraising or campaign management, with a focus on individual donor/stakeholder engagement.
- Proven success in managing donor relationships and developing tailored outreach strategies.
Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to present strategies and engage donors.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously.
- Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems. Experience with data analysis tools is preferred.
HIRING RANGE
$80,000-$110,000
The hiring range for this role accounts for the many factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
