United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey is pleased to extend our supplemental local and general operating grant cycle for an additional year.
In March of 2020, the entire world shifted. Initially set out to be a three-year (FY19-21) grant cycle, UWGPSNJ quickly recognized the challenges and financial pressures felt by our nonprofit community due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In response to the pandemic’s ongoing strain on our partners and neighbors, we have extended the grant cycle one final year.
The grant extension also includes unrestricted COVID-19 recovery funding which provides additional financial flexibility to help our partners recover from the impacts of the pandemic. Through this unrestricted funding, we granted $1 million in FY22 and another $1 million committed for FY23.
More than just funding, UWGPSNJ stands shoulder to shoulder with our partners – offering support, capacity, resources, technical assistance, and more. Last year, UWGPSNJ funded more than 130 of the most effective poverty-fighting nonprofit organizations across our region.
It is only through the generosity of our donors that we can continue to respond to the evolving needs of our community and aid in recovery efforts throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.
Our next grant cycle will be announced in early 2023.
