Our nation is experiencing an unprecedented storm: The largest of its kind to make landfall in the U.S. since Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Harvey, a Category 4 hurricane at landfall but now a lingering tropical storm, is leaving a wake of destruction in its path, and thousands of people are in real need of help.
In our own community, memories of the devastation that followed Super Storm Sandy in 2012 are still fresh, and we feel the pain and shock of those affected by Harvey’s aftermath. In moments like these, our commitment to LIVE UNITED becomes increasingly important. And you can join our network-wide efforts to make a difference for those in need at this critical time:
- Promote 2-1-1: 2-1-1, a free, confidential non-emergency helpline remains fully operational and available to support individuals and families seeking help. Individuals can call 2-1-1 from any phone, or connect online.
- Give to Relief Funds: Other local funds have been set up to help with both the short-term needs and the longer-term rebuilding efforts. A comprehensive list can be found here.
When we LIVE UNITED, we stand ready to help affected communities recover. Thank you for supporting our neighbors near and far.
