UNITED WE PREPARE
Resilience doesn’t start after a disaster – it starts now, with community, with care, and with a plan.

With support from Verizon, United Way can better prepare communities for future disasters.

UNITED WE PREPARE

A COMMUNITY PREPAREDNESS INITIATIVE

Brought to you by United Way and Verizon

Disasters can happen anytime, anywhere – whether natural or man-made. From fires and floods to power outages and severe storms, every emergency poses a risk to our safety, homes, and communities. That’s why United Way, with support from Verizon, is launching United We Prepare – a new initiative to help individuals and communities build resilience in the face of disasters.

PREPARATION IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARD SAFETY.

Through this initiative, United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey will be hosting local disaster preparedness trainings and workshops to help individuals and families:

REQUEST A PRESENTATION IN 2026

We are currently scheduling community workshops for 2026. If your organization is interested in a fire safety/emergency preparedness presentation, you may request either an in-person or virtual session.

Please provide our team with two or more potential dates and times in 2026 that would work for your organization. For in-person events, we typically require at least three weeks’ notice.
