Tabitha Jenkins and Erika Joy Erb join Leadership Team to Amplify Organization’s Position, Growth and Impact within the Community
Philadelphia, PA — United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) has named Tabitha Jenkins as Chief of Staff and Erika Joy Erb as Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.
As Chief of Staff, Jenkins will drive organizational priorities, lead to ensure efficiency and operational excellence that will enable UWGPSNJ to deliver maximum results for the community. The mission to meaningfully and measurably reduce poverty and increase opportunity means an organization that is lean, agile and committed to delivering excellence. Jenkins vast private sector experience will enable UWGPSNJ to accelerate progress in this area.
Jenkins will also play an integral role in building upon UWGPSNJ’s progress on measurable commitments to diversity, equity and inclusion. Under the leadership and direction of the President and CEO, United Way is committed to ensuring clear and quantifiable action towards becoming an actively anti-racist organization. Diversity, equity and inclusion is integral to fighting poverty and is a core priority of UWGPSNJ’s mission. Jenkins robust experience will further advance and strengthen UWGPSNJ’s commitment to racial equity.

Most recently, Jenkins served as the Chief of Staff and Senior Attorney Advisor to the Chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Washington, D.C., where she prioritized the commission’s strategies to prevent and remedy unlawful employment discrimination and advance equal opportunity in the workplace. Before entering government service, Tabitha was Vice President – Assistant General Counsel for Burlington Stores Inc. located in Burlington, New Jersey where during her tenure she oversaw the Labor & Employment, Litigation and Regulatory Compliance groups.
Jenkins’ expertise is vital in providing oversight and accountability to UWGPSNJ’s key programs and initiatives. Her responsibilities will include developing measurable goals to support the organization’s key pillars of Early Learning, Opportunity, Employment & Entrepreneurship and Financial Empowerment for our neighbors fighting for a better life.
Erika Joy Erb joins UWGPSNJ’s Senior Leadership Team as Chief Marketing & Communications Officer. Erb’s expertise will be essential in leading all aspects of UWGPSNJ’s marketing and communications efforts. Her responsibilities include strategically positioning the UWGPSNJ brand within the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey region and developing initiatives to build relationships and positively engage the community.

Erb brings more than 15 years of experience leading successful marketing campaigns across a range of industries. Prior roles include working in the legal and financial marketing sector at Sullivan & Worchester LLP and NYSE Euronext on Wall Street, as well as serving as Director of Marketing at SugarHouse Casino where Erb held various marketing roles and played an integral part in opening the casino in 2010. Most recently, she was Director of Marketing at Fashion District Philadelphia, where she oversaw the strategic marketing vision and was responsible for building all aspects of the brand including positioning, public relations, brand development, advertising, opening events and digital efforts.

Jenkins will officially join the leadership team in September 2020 with Erb having joined the team in June 2020.
