United Way honors county businesses, individuals for philanthropy

SPRINGFIELD >> United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) honored several volunteers, donors and corporate partners during the annual Delaware County Community Awards Celebration held at the Springfield Country Club on June 5.

“At United Way, we are on a mission to end poverty – the kind that traps families for generations. However, it’s only by coming together, with the leadership of our most dedicated supporters, that we can drive measurable, lasting Impact for our neighbors,” said Bill Golderer, president and CEO of UWGPSNJ. “Our Delaware County Community Award honorees are truly game-changers and hand-raisers that not only move the needle in our region, but also lead by example and inspire others to lend a hand and do more to make our communities stronger.”

Recipients for the 2017-18 Campaign Awards are: Campaign Chairman’s Award, Ryan Grace, Delaware County District Attorney’s Office; Employee Campaign Chair of the Year Award, Katelyn Riggins, Sun East Federal Credit Union; Corporate Citizenship Award, Braskem-Marcus Hook; Culture of Caring Award, DELCORA;

Game Changer Award, Aqua America, Inc.; Investing in Impact Award, Erie Insurance Group, Mother’s Award, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Chester Mill.

Recipients for the 2017-18 Community Awards: Delaware County Community Advocate Award, Shannon Fitzpatrick Thomas, Delaware County Office of Behavioral Health; Delaware County Agency Director Award, Joanne D. Craig, The Foundation for Delaware County; Delaware County Volunteer of the Year Award, Adriene M. Irving.
