Melissa Culp

Vice President, Development & Operations

Melissa serves as Managing Director, Business Operations at United Way of Greater Philadelphia, and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) but is best described as our Project Management Expert. Melissa manages the business operations and IT team, serves as the liaison to the Regional Board of Directors, and provides support throughout the organization in process improvement and risk management. 

She began volunteering with UWGPSNJ as a business operations consultant in 2010 and joined the team in 2015 as a member of the Resource Development Department focused on data analytics, research and communications.

Melissa has over 30 years of experience in operations and organizational effectiveness having worked in the private sector as a Consumer Market Manager for Bank of America and Director of Fraud Operations for Fleet Credit Card Services and in the government sector as the Northeast Regional Asset Forfeiture Coordinator for the IRS’ Criminal Investigation Division.

Melissa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Widener University and a certificate in Administrative Law from the Paralegal Institute of Philadelphia.

In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband and four children, traveling and volunteering with Home at Last Dog Rescue.
