Navigating the aftermath of the casino closings. Facing decreasing home values, or worse yet, foreclosure. Tackling costly repairs from storm damage. Paying down holiday debt. Juggling winter utility bills with a limited income. The cumulative effect? Many local families may be feeling the pinch.

The reality is, sometimes just knowing where to turn for help in a time of need is the toughest hurdle to overcome. At United Way, we work to ensure our neighbors have access to the resources they need to meet their most Basic Needs.

In partnership with the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), and powered by financial support from South Jersey Industries, United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) is eliminating barriers by presenting a FREE Economic & Energy Assistance Resource Expo on Tuesday, March 8, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing, New Jersey. With a variety of programs and services available in one place, local residents in need of assistance can easily find the support they need.Representatives from the following organizations will be on hand to answer questions and guide residents in accessing available help and resources:

  • Atlantic City Electric
  • South Jersey Gas
  • Ocean Inc.
  • AtlantiCare Behavioral Health
  • Clarifi
  • Community Foodbank of NJ
  • Consumer Credit and Budget Counseling, Inc.
  • Family Service Association
  • New Jersey American Water Company
  • NJ 2-1-1
  • and more!

Additionally, Sheriff Frank X. Balles and his team will be on site with the R.E.AL Help program - Realty Experts Aligned to Help – to provide education and outreach about foreclosure prevention programs and options that can help them during these challenging times.
