United Way’s Rubber Ducky Regatta
United Way has, for more than 20 years, hosted the most colorful and celebrated community event in Cape May County. It’s the Rubber Ducky Regatta, and during this summertime affair, thousands of rubber duckies take to the water for a race around Morey’s Piers Beachfront Waterpark to support our work in Cape May County.
Building Community through Education
This year, with support from this event, we are expanding Success By 6®, our early childhood development initiative, in Cape May County. Our focus is on early literacy, and our goal is to ensure all kindergarteners in Cape May County have access to quality, age-appropriate books in their homes. Throughout the school year, local children enrolled in public kindergarten will build their very own libraries through the First Book® program. Additionally, teachers will have the opportunity to incorporate these books into their curriculum or classroom reading sessions!
Don’t miss the 2016 Regatta!
Date: August 14, 2016
Location: Morey’s Piers Mariner’s Landing in Wildwood, NJ
It is the county’s largest and longest-running community focused special event, which draws both support and spectators from throughout region. Its success is due in large part to a number of area businesses who sponsor the event, including longtime partner and host, Morey’s Piers & Beachfront Waterparks and title sponsor South Jersey Industries.
Additionally, a host of prizes are donated by local vendors to accompany the winning ducks. Top prizes include golf greens fees, a ShopRite gift card, season passes to Morey’s Piers, a flat screen television and more!
